What do the modern idea of “Maori” as a single race with special rights and the sudden explosion of transgender identity in our schools actually have in common?
They’re both social constructs that didn’t exist in their current form until relatively recently… yet both are now being taught as unquestionable truth to our kids, driving deeper and deeper division in the country.
In my latest Andy Oakley Investigates episode I lay it all out: how the unified “Māori” identity only emerged after 1840, why the Waitangi Tribunal couldn’t give me a single definition when I asked (despite my claim and 22 pieces of evidence), and how the exact same pattern is playing out with gender ideology — from zero to “affirm or else” in less than fifteen years.
Both rely on belief, not biology. Both are pumped into classrooms. And both are creating the separatism and social friction that’s making so many Kiwis uneasy.
I kept it raw, evidence-based, and straight to the point — just like the podcast always is.

If you’re tired of ideology replacing reality and schools choosing activism over common sense, this one’s for you.
