I don’t know what you drive but I mainly drive a Jeep Cherokee. There have been times I’ve wondered whether my Jeep might be targeted for cultural appropriation by white do-gooders on behalf of native Americans, or some such madness.
So far so good.
But imagine what it must be like to drive a Tesla right now. If you’re lucky, the least you’ll get away with is a good keying.
If you’re unlucky? A good hiding.
Now I don’t know about you, but vandalism has always struck me as a particularly low life, envious, and intellectually vapid type of crime. There’s a whole psychology around it, and many books written on the subject.
Now here’s one for you. Is it a hate crime for people to draw a swastika on a Tesla if they believe Elon Musk is a Nazi?
No, I’m not asking that question (because I have a brain), but the Dumpty Doos over at the New York Times asked it in all seriousness earlier this week via a headline.
People are keying Teslas all over the world, and many are drawing swastikas while doing it. Now, I see vandalism in general as hateful, but apparently drawing the swastika on a Tesla with a key is seen by many as far from a hate crime because they genuinely believe Elon Musk is a Nazi.
They often say, when caught – as they so often are because they haven’t clocked to the fact that Teslas have inbuilt security cameras – he did that Nazi salute, don’t ya’ know?
The use of swastikas by critics of Musk has put law enforcement in a bind, legal scholars are suggesting. Yes, certain legal scholars on the left.
“Not every swastika is indicative of a hate crime,” said Richard A. Wilson, a professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. “It depends on the context, the intended message and intended target.”
“If Elon Musk can escape any kind of contrition for doing a straight-arm salute by saying he meant to convey another message,” he added, “then people who attack him using a symbol from the Nazi regime can probably use that defence as well.”
Wow. The mental gymnastics required to make such a statement are epic.
First of all, did you see a Nazi salute because I know I didn’t. I saw an autistic genius overwhelmed with goofy happiness and gratitude that Trump was finally inaugurated. All of the hard work had paid off.
Second, talk about trying to get out in front of it.
The FBI have now classified such vandalism as domestic terrorism. Which is hard to argue against considering many of these incidents have involved arson, gunfire, and incendiary devices.
Domestic terrorism means they lock you up and essentially throw away the key. So, how dumb do you need to be?
Elon Must believes that much of the anti-Tesla movement is being orchestrated by billionaire Democrat George Soros – they reportedly despise each other – and certainly the blatant bussing in of protesters, and cash payments to them, does appear to fit with his theory.
Protesters will say all manner of things on camera about Musk and his “dastardly” role in the MAGA movement, DOGE, and his “fascism”, but many of them also seem two sandwiches short of a picnic.
If you dig a little deeper they often stutter and stammer or scream and curse. Coherency is not their strong suit. You get the strong feeling that they are being manipulated.
Bottom line? Tesla – and Musk – are losing money. The share price is trending ever downward, and the Tesla future looks bleak. Whatever the agenda is it’s working for now.
It won’t break Musk, but it’s hurting and that is, of course, the point. Whether his leaving the public eye stems the flow, is anyone’s guess. But it does seem to be the only real option at this point.
It’s funny how before Musk got involved with Trump he was seen by the US media as a hero figure. But then Trump was celebrated by them before successfully running for President in 2016 too. They adored him. He was a harmless reality show celebrity with a huge personality.
All of which tells you all you need to know. The Democrats, hand in hand with their globalist masters, will do whatever it takes to wrestle back control – and as soon as possible, and by whatever means.
There’s a totalitarian utopia to stitch get together, and if Musk and Tesla need to be sacrificed on the altar of woke, then so be it.
