Just when you think the collective Greens all around the world couldn’t get more radical, well, have I got some news for you.

The Green Party of England and Wales voted on 4 October to formalise a policy that equates Zionism with racism and calls for Israel to be replaced by a single Palestinian state. The motion officially classifies Zionism as “an ethno-nationalist political project” and states that it should be “treated as any other form of racism.” But hating Jews is all good, right? That’s not racism, oh no siree.

Because no matter what they say, as invariably they always claim to hate Zionism and not Jews, they hate Jews. It is the new Nazism minus decent uniforms. The preferred look now is kaffiyehs and crumpled, ill-fitting, slightly soiled garb.

Rather than supporting a two-state solution, the policy backs the establishment of a “single democratic Palestinian state in all of historic Palestine” with Jerusalem as its capital. Oh, the arrogance and naivety of thinking that could or would work. Their historical illiteracy is utterly breathtaking.

Also, to think that Zionism – the simple belief that Israel is a Jewish national homeland – is somehow radical and racist is more the Greens reflecting back to themselves in the mirror. To believe that Jewish sovereignty is somehow inherently evil, but every other nation in the world is unquestioningly allowed it, well, you’d have to be demented. Frankly. And they are showing the world clearly who the racists and bigots actually are.

And while they took that vote three days shy of October 7, they did take it on the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street. While meaning little to most of us down here at the bottom of the world, the Battle of Cable Street was a major clash on October 4, 1936, in London's East End where protesters successfully blocked a march by the British Union of Fascists, led by Oswald Mosley. It is celebrated as a defining moment in British history where a diverse working-class community united to defeat homegrown fascism.

The local Jewish community was at the absolute forefront of the Battle of Cable Street, and because Mosley had deliberately chosen London's East End—the heart of the British Jewish community at the time—to stage an intimidating paramilitary rally, Jewish residents viewed the march as a direct existential threat. Which it was, of course, given the events of WW2 only a few years later. The fascists were considered filth back then, but now it is the ‘progressives’ who deserve that label.

Here are some of the marchers in 2026 openly and aggressively pushing one of many Jews out of being able to march to commemorate their own proud history of beating fascism. Astounding stuff.

The Green Party were busy at their AGM in Brighton that same day, voting in their new “Zionism is Racism” mantra. Lovely and kind, those Greens. Just like our Greens down here. When they’re not busy waving flags at pro-Palestinian protests, they’re attending an ‘anti-Zionist Passover Seder’, adorned in a keffiyeh and watermelon symbols. Green MPs Chloe Swarbrick and Ricardo Menendez- March did just that last year. It was disrespectful, grotesque, and wrong. Nothing explains such desecratory behaviour away. It was an overt piss-take by politicians paid by us. I feel that way when they sit in parliament wearing the same too.

Anyway, as the world now enters the three-year anniversary of October 7th, I expect the anti-Semitism on display to become even more overt. There are pro-Palestinian marches planned all over the globe, and of all days to choose to protest against Israel, well, let’s just say that Chloe and Marama and Ricardo et al. will be loving it. I do fear for what may happen. Here’s an Australian perspective on it.

Now before the Jew-haters write in to me again, my name is Rachel, which means ‘ewe’ in Hebrew. And no. I’m not one. Jewish or a sheep. And because I’m not a sheep, I think for myself. Here’s what I think. The Middle East has, and always will be, about as difficult a problem as it gets. You can’t solve it and nor can I.

But I will not accept that Jews in the West – or anywhere – are now hounded for being Jewish again. If that’s being “progressive” and not fascist, then the world’s upside down, isn’t it?

If, on their second most deadly day since the holocaust, Jews are unsafe and tormented just for being Jewish, ask yourself who the racists and bigots are. To be fair, though, they are now unsafe and tormented every day of the week.

I stand firmly with them on October 7th and firmly against you if you march, protest, wear a kaffiyeh, shout ‘from the river to the sea’ or otherwise celebrate the death of over 1200 innocents who were randomly slaughtered – too polite a word almost – by Hamas’ death cult terrorists on that day. If you do so, then you, to me, are a scumbag.

And that’s how I now see the Greens and their ilk. Open your eyes and see that political party for what it is. An assortment of historically illiterate Jew-hating, terrorism-celebrating scumbags who care not a jot for the environment.

And to my Jewish friends. Shalom aleichem.
