Jaspreet Boparai is a woman of many talents: a scholar, mother, farmer and now councillor for Southland. Born in India, she holds degrees in both English literature and accounting and previously held senior positions in international banking. Today she juggles contract-milking, her role of mother to two young children and being a “first-time” Southland District Councillor.

Don Nicolson has been involved in farming (lamb and venison), wool and deer velvet and has held provincial and national positions within Federated Farmers of New Zealand including being National President of the Federation.
