Perigo's Perspective: On Flirting with Catholicism, the Witches of Woke and More! – 1 Jun 2023

I hear Rodney Hide is flirting with Catholicism. I understand. Catholicism has the best music, the best drag and the best cathedrals, with the arguable exception of Eastern Orthodox.

And Catholicism says the devil is real.

That's very easy to believe nowadays. You need only behold such specimens as Soros, Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, Nancy Pelosi, Occasional Cortex and Jacinda Jackboot to note that they fair reek of the evil they practise. It seems plausible that there's a force for evil greater than the sum of its parts, of which these entities partake and which oozes palpably from them.

But before going Catholic, I'd consider the fact that the Pope isn't. If there's a devil, he most assuredly is holding Francis captive. The contemporary church is Woke. It's more worried about pronouns than breaking the commandments. It no longer sports powerful preachers like Fulton Sheen who would thunder against the evils of godless Bolshevism. The church is rife with godless Bolshevism. If Rodney's flirtation is born of despair at the pervasiveness of evil, becoming Catholic might just be frying pan into the fire territory.

Where to turn? The Witches of Woke assail us every which way. Politically, we are governed by a Uniparty, unanimous in its shilling for the Chinese Communist Party, the World Economic Forum and Pfizer, unanimous in its desire to shut down dissent.

On Monday morning of this week, Will Ryan, the star of Perigo's Perspective last week, received a visit from the police, ostensibly on an unrelated matter but warning him to leave poor David Seymour alone. You heard Will last week, challenging Diddums David at a street corner meeting about his failure to stand up for the Bill of Rights when the Pfizer poison was mandated. Seymour's rejoinder was, “No one cares about you mate.”

Turns out Will subsequently ran into Seymour at a restaurant in Newmarket, and reiterated his challenge. Will was not stalking David; they just happened to coincide at the same restaurant. Evidently, having the effrontery to deviate from the Uniparty line is sufficient reason to justify a visit from the cops.

Our police have become Thought Police. This has been going on since the Christchurch mosque shooting, perpetrated by an Australian tourist, when Thought Police visited Kiwis in their homes demanding to know what their political views were.

Our cherished freedoms are in a parlous state. Voting for any component of the Uniparty—Labour, National, ACT or the Greens—is not an option, as far as I'm concerned.

Winston Peters is starting to say the right things, but he always does at opportune moments and then forgets them when secure in the baubles of office. Yes, it's important to topple the current Woke-Fascist regime, but not to replace it with another Woke-Fascist regime.

We need a party that will tweak our Bill of Rights, make it sacrosanct, repeal all legislation inconsistent with it, de-Wokify our institutions (including the police), close the Communist Chinese embassy and ban all trade with that tyranny.

De-Wokification should also include the New Zealand School of Music, which some time ago committed itself to the cause of the racist terrorist group, Only Black Lives Matter, and said it would “de-centre whiteness” in its curriculum. In which case, better make the most of music such as this, sung by my favourite soprano, Anna Moffo, while you can.

It's the sort of music that could turn ME Catholic!
