We’re looking for an Audio Editor to join the RCR team based in Queenstown (or with the option to work remotely).

As an Audio Editor, you will play a key role in maintaining and shaping the overall sound and feel of RCR through trailers/promos, stagers, and general sound imaging for all shows.

This is an initial 3-month contract with the potential to extend to a longer contract and longer hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Connecting with hosts, preparing content, and overseeing production of pre-recorded content through to completion, from post-recording to scheduling.
  • Audio content creation for playout on air.

About You:

  • Experience as an audio editor, sound engineer, or similar role.
  • Proficiency with audio editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Adobe Audition) and experience in different DAWs.
  • Strong understanding of audio mixing, mastering, and sound design principles.
  • A computing background with the ability to solve basic computer problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to stay calm when things go wrong.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with hosts and team members.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and consistently deliver superb results.
  • A discerning ear with the ability to identify what sounds good.
  • Reliable and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.

The Ideal Candidate Will Preferably Have:

  • Excellent knowledge of audio-visual systems or the desire to learn the ropes and go the extra mile.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience working with sound control systems in a live show studio environment, content creation, radio automation, live streaming, and video control systems.

Benefits:

  • An opportunity to work with a passionate team dedicated to making a difference.
  • Flexibility to work remotely.
  • Competitive contract-based compensation with the potential for extension.
  • A dynamic and supportive work environment.
