Colin, Ex-Campground Owner. West Coast, NZ.
We had a small rural family-run campground and obviously our income tanked during the first lockdown and travel restrictions thereafter. This pushed us to sell up but we just about got rateable value despite our business doing well before the lockdown.
Then the vaccine mandates pushed my wife out of her new hospitality job, and our youngest daughter, a single mother, out of her care work job. We coped ok but are saddened by the unnecessary suffering the lockdowns and mandates caused kiwis. There must be accountability for this suffering.
